An Exclusive Garden Poetry Reading
join me in my flower garden for an entire reading of "The Shape I Take"
Happy July! This month, I’m taking a creative rest, and so I scheduled this post for you ahead of time. If I’m not as quick to respond to comments or messages as usual, that’s why. But please know that I love to hear from you, and I will respond at one point or another!
Come sit in my garden with me and let me read you “The Shape I Take”—from front to back, the way it was intended to be read. We’ll start in the days of prodromal labor and sweep through delivery and into those first few raw & tender postpartum weeks.
I’ll tell you the stories behinds the words. You’ll watch me flick bugs off my face. You’ll hear the freight train rumble by on the tracks across the road. You’ll see the fruit of my laissez-faire gardening style. It’s imperfect, yes; but isn’t that the way with mothering, too?
So come. Here’s a never-before-shared exclusive of “The Shape I Take,” filmed just for you, dear friends. Let’s dilly dally in the garden for a while!
