Usually I balk at calling whatever it is we’re doing here ‘a newsletter.’ But today, I’ve got news and I’m putting it in this letter so…I guess the shoe fits. THIS WEEK IS EXCITING AND I WANT TO TELL YOU THINGS.
1. LIVE EVENTS this week
TOMORROW: Tuesday, April 23, 6-7 PM
POETRY READING at The Kennebunk Free Library
I’m going to be doing some spoken word poetry tomorrow night, and I’ve got a lineup of original poems to share with you that I’m pretty jazzed about. Some are from The Shape I Take, others are favorites that have been published, and others still have never been shared before. As in, I wrote them this week and I’ll be testing them in a very public way.
COME!
112 Main Street, Kennebunk, ME
Friday, April 26, 6-8 PM
POETRY READING at The Millinocket Memorial Library
Word on the street is that there is going to be an AMAZING open-mic time to kick of the evening, and then I’ll have an opportunity to share some spoken words, too. Come listen, participate, and get your copy of The Shape I Take signed!
COME!
5 Maine Avenue, Millinocket, ME
2. NEW POEMS in the Renaissance Issue of The Way Back to Ourselves this week
My poems Flowers in My Belly and Dark Night of the Soul at Dawn are featured in The Way Back to Ourselves journal this week. I would love to know what you think of them, but I also urge you to cozy yourself right down and steep yourself in this latest issue. It’s a beaut. A shoutout to my friend
and all the amazing editors there.
3. DROPPING TOMORROW: Part II of The Poetry Jam & Slam Podcast
Tomorrow, I’ll be back with my 5 poetry-lovin’ friends to slam original poetry. It will feel a bit like an acoustic story hour. It’s a lot of fun. Look for the episode in your inbox, or SUBSCRIBE to The Second Cup Show on Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
Did you miss Part I? Catch up today! ⬇️
Phew. That was a lot. If you’re still here, thanks!

…will I see you this week in person at an event?
