Beautiful and thoughtful Deidre, so much in your words to reflect on. We have to recognize and celebrate the real things in life.

Oh my goodness Deidre! This is seriously one of the most impactful and resonating poems I have ever read where I viscerally felt it in my bones. This was the line that really hit home with me.

"And—breaking the surface of our slavery—

we'll gasp for air as our lungs fill

with almost

unbearable lightness"

Those two words - "unbearable lightness" is so rich and dripping with beauty. Thank you for crafting these words and letting the Spirit be your guide. You are such an embodied hopeful writer! So blessed to get to work with you and be in community with you. May we all leave the shackles of our social media slavery and not be in love with our captors. Blessings to you my dear friend!

Matt—oh my goodness, thank you, you’ve encouraged me so much. I have this dream, that if enough of us do what you say (to leave the shackles of social media), there will be no social media left, but instead we’ll find ourselves engaging in new, meaningful, and sincere ways that actually impact lives. Pie in the sky dream? Maybe. But I still get lost in the hope of it sometimes!
